SchuF COO and global sales director David Donne presented at Refcomm 2019 in Galvestone from April 29th to May 3rd.
It was the 21st edition of Refcomm’s exhibition in consulting, training and conferences.
The presentation explored key valve applications in the Residue HydroCracking process and how the following can affect the performance of the Residue HydroCracking process:
Dead space free design to eliminate coking and clogging
Integrating supplementary start-up and shut-down connections into the equipment
Design and layout flexibility to allow for compact designs with optimized piping arrangements
Planning for redundancy by using 1-in-1 and 2-in-1 control valves
Eliminating the need for continuous flushing
Improving erosion resistance by use of inner protection
Keeping the process safe with quick closing isolation and emergency depressurising valves.
Mr. Donne was pleased to meet all who attended the presentation.
NEW TESTING FACILITY
New Testing Facility at SchuF Ireland
SchuF Valve Technology GmbH, located at Cork, Ireland, recently installed a new double test rig. This facility enables SchuF to test all valves and pressure-retaining parts to all major international standards, including ASME B16.34, API 598 and EN 12266-1, in a safe environment.”

THE NEW FACILITY HAS THE FOLLOWING TEST CAPABILITY:
Liquid Shell & Seat test system; 0 – 800 bar
Gas Shell & Seat test system; 0 – 300 bar
Vacuum – Air test system; -500 mbar – 10 bar
Helium leakage test system; to EN/ISO 15848-2,
leaks of 5×10-12 mbar l/s can be detected
